On the way home from a half-day work yesterday afternoon, Hubby and me sent some sms.

Him : B (Baby, whatever!), wanna drive up to KL, Malacca or Desaru today?

Me : Hahaha, are you sure or not? Laser (the car) hasn't even go to JB!

Him : I'm serious! Go and pack!

Me : Dum dee dum.

Obviously, I thought he must be joking. It was so unlike him to make a haste suggestion. He even takes a longer time to make a decision. So I continued taking off the sheet from the bed and put it in the washing machine for a good wash. At the same time, I thought how fun it will be to just pack and go to wherever we decide to go. The idea of not doing housework even for a few hours sounds like heaven. The kids are already in their holiday mode at Grandmother's, so, that, we don't have to worry about. But still, I thought he was teasing because that was all I talked about this week. Holiday.

Then he reached home. Showered. Dressed. Took the passports. Waved them at me.

Him : Let's go!

Me : Go where?

Him : Anywhere lah.

All those time, we were both laughing like teenagers planning to elope. It was crazy. Still laughing, I packed some t-shirts, pants, underwears, toothbrushes, handphone chargers and off we went to Popular bookstore to get a map!

Me : Go where ah?

Him : Dunno lah. Where do you want to go?

Me : Haiyah. Like that just drive lah. We will decide later.

Three hours later, somewhere at the North-South Highway, we decided. But we missed the exit and ended up in Negri Sembilan! Damn! It's like the Amazing Race. Only there is no race. Just missing the signs, wrong turns, u-turns, maps. Very interesting. Luckily, we will not be eliminated because Phil Keoghan is somewhere in another country. Ha! Here is where we went.

Malacca's A'Famosa! I've been reading about its fun and exciting agendas. And what a fun and exciting trip it was indeed.

Above is the Resort Hotel where we stayed.

Below is the Cowboy Town where we went for dinner and some shows. I like the Red Indians act where the guys showed their skills with fire. In the picture, one of them nearly slashed my neck with his rusty axe.

The next morning, which was this morning, we went to the Water World, which is like the Wild Wild Wet in Singapore. BUT, I will not recommend to go to their Water World. Not if you want to slide in the tunnel waterless.

We left A'Famosa at noon and headed to Mahkota Parade where we had HALAL Kenny Rogers. Yummy! Oh, and the beach! Oh My God! Don't ever, ever, swim in their beach! Ever! Even though it IS the Straits of Malacca.

Oh, by the way, we are at home now. Back in slightly more than 24 hours since we left yesterday. Tired, but mission accomplished :D And yeah, we have to replace that set of bedsheet which is still in the machine.

  • Haha! Almost exactly like the time I went for my Malacca and KL trip with my friend. Bought the Malacca map (I think in Popular too!) at the very last min and only got the KL map in Malacca. Nothing beats spontaneity eh...
