A friend and I were discussing (if you want to call it that but I'd call it arguing) about who's responsible for letting her 9 year old son's cell phone getting washed in the washing machine.

Friend : I was so mad at my maid. She is so bloody stupid. The cell phone practically washed and spinned in the machine! Why didn't she check all the pockets before she started the machine?

Me : I don't think it was totally your maid's fault. Your son, too, played a part.

Friend : No way! She is suppose to check the pockets before she does the washing! She is paid to do that!

Me : Well, I always tell my family members to empty their pockets before dumping the dirty clothes into the laundry basket.

Friend : That is because you are the one who do the washing. And you're not a maid. And you're not paid to do the work. I pay my maid to do that work.

Me : Still, I think you should at least educate your family members to be more responsible with their belongings.

Friend : No, you don't get it. You don't have a maid and never had one.

Me : Hey, if I have a maid, I'd still tell my family members to empty their pockets. The maid will be the second person to check. Double checking, you know.

Friend : You're just saying that because you don't have a maid. If you have one, you'll understand what I'm trying to say.

Actually I don't. What is so difficult about educating your family members to be more responsible? Hmmm...

  • Kak Lynn. Fuyooooooo dahsyat eh. Dah naik manja orang besau-besau ni.

Friend : "....I pay my maid to do that work."

To avoid next hp being swallowed by washing machine, don't hire a maid, wash your own clothes!

Macam Kak Lynn eh, eh eh. :o)

  • Cik Liza, my friend ni kan, anak dia primary 1 jer dah ada hp. They even sms each other and all that. Canggih kan?

Kyn, Ak ah! Manja kan orang2 yang ada maid ni? But I don't think all are like that lah (ni bukan apa, takut kena hampot dengan orang yang ada maid tapi disagree). But still, I won't depend on everything on my maid. Her job is to help me. Not take over my job. Gitu eh?! Wahaha.

  • i think shes actually angry at herself but blame on the maid cos lumrah manusia suka pinpoint. Sometimes when im angry at myself i scold my children for little things tt they do.
I guess its a learning experience for us to reflect on ourselves :).

  • Tina, I doubt she's angry at herself. But yeah, sometimes when I do get angry at hubby, I'll tend to vent it out on the kids. Tak pasal pasal kena marah. Ish, Very bad.

By the way, apasal tupperware eh? You jual tupperware eh? :p

  • I have lotsa bones to pick on this one. Berbulu mata I tengok my nieces n nephews yg ade maid sedap ajer dok depan tv pas tu holler "Bik saya nak makan" Si bibik tu pun amiklah pinggan letak nasi pas tu kasi kat si raja yg dok dpn tv bontot berat 50kilo tu abis makan pinggan campak dlm sink. Parents dun bother to teach their kids how to behave when ade maids. Ingat maid tu hamba abdi ke sume die kena buat sebab "she is paid" banyak besau diorang nye duit?? I think kids need to be taught responsibility whether or not they have maids sebab maid tu bukan 4eva lagipun its for their own personal devlmt. Kalau tak blaja dari kecik nak tunggu jadi mak org ke baru nak blajar?? *wah shsuya step marah seh...*
