Now I have this scary thoughts about our home on fire whenever we're not at home. It is scary!
The incident 3 days ago left me thinking. The circuit breaker was turned off automatically when it sensed danger. But the water heater worked itself to flame. What if we were already asleep? The darkness won't wake us because it'd be already dark since we'd turned off all the lights before sleeping. It would take me (a light sleeper) a while to even realise that the air-conditioner or the fan is turned off. By the time I feel warm, the bathroom could be on fire. Or worse, if this happens in December when we plan to go away for a short holiday!
This scares me even when I'm sleeping. I'm so comfortable with my home now that thoughts about losing it in a flash scare the hell out of me. Urgh!
Fire is our biggest enemy, no?

Once due to my negligence, i set the wok on fire and me being the suaku, pour water on the blazing fire.. but it just roared at me back! But something hit me, so i got hold of my beautiful quilt cover and covered the whole thing.. and there, one quilt cover gone... sigh.
Hah, but surely, i am still traumatized by it... even though it was a small fire.. it sure left big fears.
Oh, and if you must know, no one got hurt.
Stay safe lady... and just be careful before you leave home or go to bed. Check!
Have a safe weekend ya.

See, the suaku in me.. I just read your previous entry.
Hah, at least you got your hubby around. I was alone and i told my kids to go outside and shout "fire fire".. haha.. so much of drama.
And you know what, it's so bloody true, I told myself i should get one extinguisher too. See, we realise it only when it happens to us, huh.

Fire is not our biggest enemy Lynn. Being too comfortable and not being prepared for the unexpected would be the greatest enemy. Sometimes we keep thinking and talking about safety but countless times we do not act to ensure that our homes are safe. By the way, that includes me too. If only we can take more time and effort to do thorough checks of all the appliances, fittings and whatever electrical items that could cause a fire to break out regularly, our homes would be much more safer than now.
